Rowans Care Centre in Macclesfield has recently been on a vibrant month-long celebration of global cultures, culminating in a ‘visit’ to Nigeria. This exciting event spanned across April and May, bringing a world of cultural experiences to the residents.
Residents embarked on an immersive cultural journey, exploring various countries including Nigeria, India, Zimbabwe, Romania, the Philippines, Malaysia, and even celebrating local English culture. Each nation was brought to life through its unique food, dance, costumes, and informative talks. This was made possible largely due to the diverse backgrounds of the care support staff, who happily shared their heritage.
Sandra Senior, the home manager at Rowans Care Centre, expressed her delight regarding the event, saying, “It’s been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that our staff and residents represent. The joy and engagement from everyone involved have truly transformed our home into a bustling global village.”
Resident Jean Brammer echoed this enthusiasm, stating, “It was like travelling the world without needing to pack a suitcase! The food was a highlight for me, and the dances and colourful costumes brought so much energy and happiness.”
Rowans Care Centre remains dedicated to providing high-quality care in an environment that champions diversity and inclusion. This event is a testament to their ongoing efforts to enrich the social and cultural lives of their residents.
